Second Grade Resources: Home

Second grade is a pivotal grade level as your child is transitioning from learning to read, to reading to learn. Your child will be able to read common vowel team pairs and read words with prefixes and suffixes. Your child will understand the meaning of words and phrases in texts and use context clues to determine the meaning of words he or she does not know. In second grade your child will begin to write in a more organized way using advanced words and phrases they have learned through conversations and what they have read. Your second grader will benefit from increased responsibility and independence!
