Fourth grade marks a shift in your child’s schooling from lower to upper elementary school. Your child will now use all knowledge of letter sounds, syllables, root words, prefixes, and suffixes to read and understand grade level texts. Your child will sufficiently use word processing skills as well as write in cursive! Fourth graders are very curious and verbal learners, and they should be able to contribute to discussions by making comments and linking their comments to others’ comments. Help your child master all fourth-grade skills by utilizing Charlotte Mecklenburg Library resources!
