Third graders are usually full of enthusiasm and have longer attention spans, which is needed in this crucial grade level. Third grade will be the first time your child participates in end of grade state testing. Help your third grader thrive using Charlotte Mecklenburg Library resources! Your child should be able to read and understand all text and use context clues to recognize and self-correct words if needed. Your child should ask questions and link comments to others during discussions. Your child will now learn to write in cursive as well and write more detailed sentences with proper conventions such as basic capitalization, punctuation, and spelling.
